Happy Monday!

It’s officially the last week of August, so it’s safe to say that we’re all feeling a little bit of summertime sadness. That’s why we’ve decided to extend our Summer of the Supernatural reads for an additional week AND add some fun new books for your reading pleasure! There are plenty of books you can get lost in to help you avoid thinking about the fact that August is really coming to an end. Contemporary, romance, sci-fi, mystery…you name it, it’s on this list. So don’t waste a moment; if you start now, you can read them all!

Find out more about this week’s featured reads:

The Rattled Bones by S.M. Parker

First up, we have The Rattled Bones by S.M. Parker. Ever since she experienced her father's sudden death, Rilla Brae has been haunted by ghostly visions tied to the tainted history of a mysterious nearby island. Can she uncover the secrets behind these visions before they take her, and her new friend, Sam, down with her?

Sasquatch, Love, & Other Imaginary Things by Betsy Aldredge and Carrie DuBois-Shaw

Next, we have Sasquatch, Love, and Other Imaginary Things by Betsy Aldredge and Carrie DuBois-Shaw. In this story, Pride and Prejudice meets Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot in this humorous and heartfelt debut about a loving, quirky family on the hunt for the mythical Sasquatch.

Shimmer and Burn by Mary Taranta

Then, we have Shimmer and Burn by Mary Taranta. This is an epic story that takes place in a world far different from our own. In this land, magic can be smuggled from place to place inside a living vessel, but it only takes one touch to steal it. When magic addicts can smell the magic in your blood, the only thing you know for sure is that nowhere is safe.

Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger

Our next read is Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger. A broken past and a divided future can’t stop the electric connection of two teens in this novel that VOYA calls a “fast-paced, fantasy-romance.” Audra is an air elemental with a secret, and Vane is a powerful...something...with no recollection of who he truly is. When their enemy catches wind of where they are, Audra must help Vane remember, no matter the consequences.

Night World by L.J. Smith

Then we have Night World by L.J. Smith. Poppy is looking death straight in the mouth when James appears, offering Poppy the gift of eternal life. It's tempting to accept anything when the other option is dying, but can she trust James to bring her into the Night World? He claims he's her soulmate...but will he actually protect her soul?

This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel

Next up we have This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel, in which 16-year-old Victor Frankenstein begins a dark journey that will change his life forever. Victor’s twin, Konrad, has fallen ill, and no doctor is able to cure him. Unwilling give up on his brother, Victor, his beautiful cousin Elizabeth, and best friend Henry begin a treacherous search for the ingredients to create the forbidden Elixir of Life.

Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines

Up next we have Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines. To everyone who knows him, West Ashby has always been that guy: the cocky, popular, way-too-handsome-for-his-own-good football god who led Lawton High to the state championships. But while West may be Big Man on Campus on the outside, on the inside he’s battling the grief that comes with watching his father slowly die of cancer. Then he meets Maggie, who has had to endure things he could only imagine. Can they help each other find the best in life?

Fury by Elizabeth Miles

Finally, we have Fury by Elizabeth Miles. In Ascension, mistakes can be deadly. And three girls—three beautiful, mysterious girls—are here to choose who will pay. Em and Chase have been chosen, and they will learn the hard way that sometimes sorry isn't enough.
