I love a good finale. I love the feeling of completion you get knowing that the story has come to an end. Even though I sometimes wish a story could continue on forever, it’s nice to have all the loose ends tied up and no longer have to wonder “What will happen next?!” So if you’re like me, and love a good finale here’s a list of a few of my faves.
Epic YA Series Finales You Don’t Want to Miss
1. The Nemesis by S.J. Kincaid
The final book in the epic sci-fi Diabolic series is here! If you haven’t already read these books, now is the time to pick up all three, beginning with The Diabolic and followed by The Empress! This galactic empire filled with danger and intrigue is sure to transport you immediately to a galaxy far, far away.
2. Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
If you’ve ever read a Shadowhunter book, you know how amazing Cassandra Clare’s writing is. Especially when it comes to finales. After two books following Julian, Emma, and the rest of the Los Angeles Shadowhunters, you’ll be at the edge of your seat wondering if they will be able to save the Shadowhunter world as we know it. Will Emma and Julian’s forbidden love survive? Or will that be the ultimate sacrifice? You’ll just have to read the finale chapter in The Dark Artifices trilogy to find out.
3. The Toll by Neal Shusterman
After the ultimate cliffhanger of Thunderhead, I think we all immediately were begging for more! Now final book of the Arc of the Scythe trilogy is almost here and Neal Shusterman has really delivered. No spoilers, but I will say that this book will blow your mind! Every twist and turn is as unpredictable as the next, loose ends are tied up perfectly. This finale is everything that Avengers: Endgame was and Game of Thrones wasn’t.
4. Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick
What will happen to fallen angel, Patch and his love Nora in the final book of the Hush, Hush saga? Nora’s heritage and destiny means that they are fated to be enemies. But maybe Nora and Patch will prove that love can conquer even the strongest of destinies.
5. The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
I was hooked on Mara’s story from the first chapter of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and now the mind-blowing conclusion is here. Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story. Mara never had to imagine how far she would go for vengeance. She will now. Retribution has arrived.
6. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
Cassandra Clare proved again how amazing she is with this finale to The Infernal Devices Trilogy. Mortmain abducts Tessa Gray to complete his plan to destroy the Shadowhunters of the London Institute. Now Jem and Will, the two men that Tessa loves are doing everything they can to rescue her. But Tessa will find out that maybe the only person who can save her is herself.
7. Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
Peter K and Lara Jean, my fave OTP are going strong as they head into senior year of High School. But as we all know; senior year means big changes. Lara Jean now has college to think about and she’s seen what happened when her sister, Margot headed off to school in Scotland. What will happen to her and Peter’s relationship when they go to college? I think we can all relate to LJ, when your heart and your head are saying two different things, it’s difficult to know which one you should listen to.
