I see fire in the distance; Red, hot flames that stand against the strongest of forces. Yes, my friend, Aries season is upon us all! Our friends of the fire element, the sign of the ram. They go for things head on and don’t hold back. An Aries friend will never leave you or lie to you. They will tell it like it is and will be confident in how they tell you. So, let’s see what this fierce sign has in stow for it’s book list, shall we?

The Perfect Book Recommendations for Aries!

1.  Heart of Flames by Nicki Pau Preto

Veronyka finally got her wish to join the Riders, but while she’s supposed to be in training, all she really wants to do is fly out to defend the villages of Pyra from the advancing empire. Tristan has been promoted to Master Rider, but he has very different ideas about the best way to protect their people than his father, the commander. Sev has been sent to spy on the empire, but maintaining his cover may force him to fight on the wrong side of the war. And Veronyka’s sister, Val, is determined to regain the empire she lost—even if it means inciting the war herself. This book has heart (it’s in the title), and shows just how far somone will go for something if they really want it. Our Aries peeps will connect with Veronyka by understanding that if you’re going to do something, do it with all your heart.

2. An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

Isobel is an artistic prodigy with a dangerous set of clients: the sinister fair folk, immortal creatures who cannot bake bread or put a pen to paper without crumbling to dust. They crave human Craft with a terrible thirst, and Isobel’s paintings are highly prized. But when she receives her first royal patron—Rook, the autumn prince—she makes a terrible mistake. She paints mortal sorrow in his eyes—a weakness that could cost him his life. Our Aries friends don’t always love to show their sensitive side (don’t be fooled, they definitely have one), they try to look at things in the practical sense but sometimes, like Rook, you can catch their real feeling about something if you truly look into their eyes.

3. We Are the Wildcats by Siobhan Vivian

Tomorrow, the Wildcat varsity field hockey squad will play the first game of their new season. But at tonight’s team sleepover, the girls are all about forging the bonds of trust, loyalty, and friendship necessary to win. If loyalty and trust are not at an Aries’ core, are they even an Aries? Teams are nothing without loyalty, so in a way, our Aries’ peeps are our little teams. Once you’re in their circle, they will do anything for you and be there through all of the ups and downs. They are the ones who glue your circle together and probably the ones who started it in the first place.

4. SLAY by Brittney Morris

By day, seventeen-year-old Kiera Johnson is an honors student, a math tutor, and one of the only Black kids at Jefferson Academy. But at home, she joins hundreds of thousands of Black gamers who duel worldwide as Nubian personas in the secret multiplayer online role-playing card game, SLAY. Then tensions run high and Kiera has to keep up with her secret identity but also understand her true self and realize she should never apologize for who she is. Aries will appreciate this lesson. They never pretend to be something they are not and understand being themselves is more important than anything.

5. When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey

Alexis has always been able to rely on two things: her best friends, and the magic powers they all share. Their secret is what brought them together, and their love for each other is unshakeable—even when that love is complicated. Complicated by problems like jealousy, or insecurity, or lust. Or love. Remember how I said loyalty was crucial for our Aries’, well here you have it. This book shows loyalty like no other. This girl squad IS truly magic!

6. The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett

Traveling with her treasure-hunting father has always been a dream for Theodora. She’s read every book in his library, has an impressive knowledge of the world’s most sought-after relics, and has all the ambition in the world. What she doesn’t have is her father’s permission. That honor goes to her father’s nineteen-year-old protégé—and once-upon-a-time love of Theodora’s life—Huck Gallagher, while Theodora is left to sit alone in her hotel in Istanbul. That is until something happens to Theodora’s father and she has to help Huck save him. Aries’ don’t always do well with orders from other people to stay put. Yet, that’s a good thing because they are confident in their abilities to do anything. If they think they can, then by all means, they can and they will! Don’t try to stop, them trust me it’s a waste of time.

7. Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare

Forbidden love and magic! Again, Aries are probably the most loyal of the Zodiac signs. They will do anything for the ones they love, even risk (if the chance was presented) completely destroying a world and society for it. The best friend/lover of your life who will walk to the ends of the earth or drive in the pouring rain for two hours to come and pick you up…that will probably be an Aries friend!
