There’s nothing I enjoy more than reading the first book in a series! I love being able to dive into a book and know the story won’t end when I get the final page. No matter how good the subsequent books are, the first book in a series always holds a special place in my heart. It’s where we first come to know and fall in love with the characters. Below I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite first books in a series I know you’ll love!
6 Series Starters We Know You’re Going To Love
1. Slayer by Kiersten White
The first book in the brand-new series set in the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that introduces a new Slayer as she grapples with the responsibility of managing her incredible powers that she’s just beginning to understand.
2. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
This is the book that started it all for To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before fans, and the one that the first movie is based on.
3. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Though there are technically three first books in the Shadowhunter world, City of Bones is where we were first learned about Shadowhunters and Downworlders.
4. The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell
The fabulous series opener to a time travel adventure involving magicians, ruthless gangs, and secret societies.
5. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
This one is a throwback to one of my favorite first books in a series about fallen angels. With plenty of romance, this is a great book to introduce you to the world.
6. Scythe by Neal Shusterman
This is the first book in a chilling new series from Neal Shusterman, introducing us to a world where natural death has been eradicated so the only way to control population is by using Scythes to end lives.
