So glad you’re all back for more. You’ll be glad to know that my predictions work across many genres. Lucky you! This time I’m spoiling Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger.

The Teaser:

Seventeen-year-old Vane Weston has no idea how he survived the category five tornado that killed his parents. And he has no idea if the beautiful, dark-haired girl who’s swept through his dreams every night since the storm is real. But he hopes she is.

Seventeen-year-old Audra is a sylph, an air elemental. She walks on the wind, can translate its alluring songs, and can even coax it into a weapon with a simple string of commands. She’s also a guardian—Vane’s guardian—and has sworn an oath to protect Vane at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing her own life.

When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both of their families, Audra’s forced to help Vane remember who he is. He has a power to claim—the secret language of the West Wind, which only he can understand. But unlocking his heritage will also unlock the memory Audra needs him to forget. And as the storm bears down on them, she starts to realize the greatest danger might not be the warriors coming to destroy them—but the forbidden romance that’s grown between them.

The Truth:

Vane doesn’t remember who he is because he’s got a Jekyll/Hyde situation going on. Except he isn’t secretly a murderer. He’s secretly the international pop star Hurricane (you’d think the names would be more different!), but Vane doesn’t know because Audra isn’t just his guardian, she’s also his manager/hypnotist who helps him back and forth. She keeps him divided so he can’t discover his powers because she likes being the one with powers and she’s threatened by his, but also because she killed his parents to get away with the Hannah Montana situation and doesn’t want him to know. Because she sort of loves him but she also sort of loves the money.

Audra will do everything she can to keep him in the dark, but lately he’s can’t get a song out of his head, one that seems to haunt his dreams. It’s by that one pop star Hurricane, and it’s called “I’m Not Who You Think I Am (My Manager’s Crazy).” And suddenly Vane feels like he has to help Hurricane. Knowing Audra won’t approve (she’s kind of lurky even for a magical, wind-controlling guardian), he sneaks off into the night on a mission to find Hurricane. Now with Audra hot on his heels, his memories start shifting and everything he’s known about himself, including the whole abandoned at birth thing, starts to crumble.

Will Audra catch up to him? Will Vane go crazy before he realizes who he is? Will Hurricane ever release new music? I guess you’ll have to check out the free full book before August 28 to find out!

I know I may have been a tad far off base in the past, but I really think I’ve got it this time guys! Read Let The Sky Fall and let me know!
