Girl About Town and Murder Among the Stars by director/producer Adam Shankman and Laura L. Sullivan, are a sultry mystery series set in the days of Old Hollywood that are perfect for reading on a dark and stormy night with a cup of tea in one hand and a sleeping cat by your side. I know this from personal experience. I also know that nothing can get you in the right mindset for a time-period read like a great playlist! After all, if I’m going to read about old Hollywood, I want to feel like I’ve transported through time; I want to feel like I’m there. In honor of this series that I absolutely adore, here’s a playlist to get you in the mood for adventure, romance, murder, and all that goes into these terrific novels!

Girl About Townby Adam Shankman

Acclaimed film producer/director Adam Shankman and coauthor Laura Sullivan pen a sparkling, witty, romantic mystery inspired by Nick and Nora Charles and Hollywood glamour.

Murder among the Starsby Adam Shankman

A murderer is picking off the young Hollywood starlets gathered at the swanky Hearst Castle, and Lulu Kelly might be next—unless she can find the killer first in this glitzy, glamorous, and cinematic sequel to acclaimed film producer/director Adam Shankman and coauthor Laura Sullivan’s Girl About Town.
