Anti-Romance Valentine’s Day Playlist!

Bear with me, because this whole Valentine’s Day business is absolutely foreign territory for me. I’ve spent most of my life as a lonely and bitter goblin with no time for romance. I vehemently ignore the anniversary posts that pop up on my Facebook timeline, I roll my eyes when the guy getting down on one knee ends up blocking my waiter from bringing me my meal, and Katherine Heigl’s entire career is of zero to no interest to me.

Still, I love Valentine’s Day. That’s because we don’t only celebrate the love between significant others and spouses on this day—we love our friends, our parents and siblings, our pets, etc. And in the past few years, there has been a movement to remind us that we also need to love ourselves. Self-love is especially important in the dreary gloom of winter (aka: right now). There are a lot of ways to show yourself some TLC: taking a long walk, writing a list of your best qualities, or indulging in a pint of fancy gelato at the grocery store. Coincidentally, all of these things are best done to music! So whether you’re looking for music to listen to while you write up self-affirmations or write down all the reasons why you love your bestie, I’ve got you covered. Take a listen!
