Gene Wilder passed away earlier this week but though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten. As the man who played Willy Wonka and a slew of other memorable characters, he will live on in the hearts of millions for years to come. Still, that doesn’t make his passing any easier; it certainly doesn’t for me. When I first heard the news, my instinct was to re-watch his movies, but I went through my favorites much too quickly.  I needed something more. Since I love books more than anything else, I began reading the books his movies were based on, and imagining him in the roles he played in their movie adaptations. It’s my little tribute to Gene Wilder, and I invite you all to join me.
