Do you love YA? Have a book or a series you absolutely adore? Or, perhaps, you have thoughts on something going on in the YA community? Would you like to share these feelings with the world by having something posted on Riveted? If so, you are in the right place!
What we’re looking for: We’re looking for passion and love―we want to know what your current YA obsessions are. Do you love a book so much you created a playlist for it? Share it with us! Is there something going on in the community you’re particularly interested in? Write about it!
Basically you have a lot of room to work with. From quiz ideas to unique list themes, we’re open to hearing anything you’re interested in pitching. We want to see (and truly love) creativity.
What we’re not looking for: Currently we have no intentions of being an outlet for reviews. So if you completely and utterly adore a book? Come up with a fun way to express that excitement! It’s all in how you decide to talk about it and show off your feels.
We are not a literary journal. We’re not looking for or accepting pieces of fiction (including but not limited to: flash fiction, short stories, or novel pitches/queries/excerpts), poems, or plays.
Lastly, we are not interested in pieces that fall in the realm of negativity and/or take apart a novel or author. We stand firmly in the belief that just because the novel may not have worked for you, doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else. This is a site to celebrate the community and the love we have for YA, not to tear people down.
Here’s what you have to do:
- Email the editorial board by contacting Matt at firstname.lastname@example.org with specific ideas you’re interested in pursuing and a brief (one-ish paragraph or so) description of yourself. (Include links to any social profiles you feel show off who you are!)
- In the subject line, please write “Riveted Submission:” and then either a short description or title idea you have for your article.
- If you already have a draft of what you’re pitching to us, please feel free to include it. We can give it a look over to see if it’s a fit for Riveted.
