What makes a beautiful cover even better? Food! Sure, a cover can have eye-catching colors or beautiful dresses, but nothing makes me want to pick up a book more than a photo of food that I want to eat. I’ve gone out of my way to pick up cake or ice cream on my way home from a bookstore so I could perfectly pair my book with the delicious food on the cover.
These are my favorite YA covers with food that I’m dying to read (and eat)!
1. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
Coffee is a staple in my diet. I knew right away that I needed When Dimple Met Rishi in my life once I saw that perfect ice coffee. The fact that the ice coffee is so essential to Dimple and Rishi’s first meeting is just icing on the cake.
2. Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
What’s the first thing you think of when someone mentions Italy? Gelato! I knew this book was going to be the perfect YA contemporary the second I saw this adorable cover featuring one of my favorite foods.
3. 100 Days of Cake by Shari Goldhagen
This cake still looks like it would taste fantastic, even as it’s spattered on the ground! This YA contemporary is FILLED with baked goods, so the foodie in you can’t go wrong with this one.
4. Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson
THE ICE CREAM! This cover just screams summer with those perfect ice cream cones, sunglasses, and gorgeous setting.
5. Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler
A cookie covered in powder sugar? Can it get any better than that?
6. American Panda by Gloria Chao
This is the perfect book to snuggle up and read with you’re own cup of hot cocoa!
7. Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian
Make sure you read this book with your favorite carton of ice cream on standby. Siobhan Vivian describes the PERFECT ice cream that you’ll be craving from the very first page.
