It has been over 3 months since Lord of Shadows, the second book in the Dark Artifices series, released, and I am STILL thinking about this series. I want everyone to know about it and love it as much as I do. So if you’ve read my first list of Reasons to Read Lady Midnight and are still on the fence, I’ve put together a second list of reasons why you should check out Lady Midnight!

1. A new Institute

One of the most fascinating things about this world is the system of Institutes (basically Shadowhunter HQs). We were in New York City in the Mortal Instruments series and London in the Infernal Devices, but Lady Midnight introduces us to the LA Institute! It’s great to see a new part of this world, located in sunny LA.

2. So many couples to ship!

In my last post, I talked about the forbidden love between Emma and Jules. But of course it doesn’t just stop there! There are so many amazing couples that you can fall in love with. Some are more complicated than others, but they’ll all make your heart race.

3. Learn more about the Shadowhunter world

Each book gives us another glimpse into this amazing world. Between new runes and histories, the layers of Cassandra Clare’s world become even richer. If you’re like me and want to know everything you can about the Shadowhunters, this book will give you so much more.

4. You can binge the first two books at once

Now that Lord of Shadows is released, it’s an even better time to read this series! You can binge the first two books until your heart is content. But fair warning, you should probably carve a good amount of time out in your schedule because you won’t want to stop reading.

5. It’s a great entry-point into the Shadowhunter world

It’s hard for me to believe, but I know there are people who haven’t had the chance to read a Shadowhunter book yet! If you’re one of them, Lady Midnight is the perfect place to jump on the bandwagon. If you’re someone who prefers to be thrown into the middle of the action without too much preamble, this is the perfect

6. To celebrate 10 years of Shadowhunters

Did you know this year is the 10th anniversary of City of Bones? There’s no better way to celebrate this than reading! The special 10th Anniversary Edition of City of Bones releases on November 7th, but until then you can dive headfirst into Lady Midnight!
