1. The Scoobies

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The Scoobies in Buffy the Vampire Slayer is undeniably my favorite friend group. They help Buffy as she fulfills her duties as the Slayer, fighting vampires and demons. Though people come in and out of it, the core three of Buffy, Willow, and Xander remain throughout all seven seasons. P.S. Our upcoming Buffy book series will def have a cool squad, too!

2. Tiny, Lu, Will, and Nathaniel

The Odds of Lightning by Jocelyn Davies

the-odds-of-lightning-9781481440530_hr

This is a group that used to be close but no longer speak to each other. Tiny, Lu, Will and Nathaniel used to be best friends. But things happen the summer before high school that tore them apart. Then, the night before the SATs, the four friends are forced together again during a wild thunderstorm that threatens to shut down New York City.

3. Andi, Palmer, Bri, and Toby

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

Unexpected everything paperback

These four girls have an amazing friendship. I mean, they’re able to pretty successfully communicate with Toby exclusively in emojis. If that’s not friendship I don’t know what is. Like any friend group, they go through a rough patch, but part of what makes this group so awesome is that you know they’ll work out their differences no matter what. They’re a friend group that’s closer to family.

4. Harry, Ron, and Hermione

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

No post about friend groups would be complete without Harry, Hermione, and Ron on the list. They supported each other as they faced both the monotony of classwork and sinister forces. Harry needed friends to fight by his side as he took on Voldemort, and Hermione and Ron were right there in the thick of it.

5. Grayson, Mike, and Ian

Boys of Summer by Jessica Brody

Read the first 16 chapters ofThe Boys of Summer by Jessica Brody!

Grayson, Mike, and Ian have been best friends since childhood, which means tons of memories filled with clambakes, bonfires, and late-night swims in the oceans. and their friendship is definitely something to be admired. As they grow, their friendship is tested in many different ways, especially when life gets tough and friendship rules are broken. But no matter what faces this friend group, it’s clear that at the end of the day, they’re there for each other.
