As many of you are already aware, an amazing book FINALLY came out yesterday: Sandhya Menon’s When Dimple Met Rishi!  It’s been talked about a LOT on the internet, by others (& here & here) and by us, and the crowd of folks clamoring to meet Sandhya and get an advance copy at YALLWEST was overwhelming! Now that it’s finally out in the world, everyone can read it, talk to us about it, and LOVE IT WITH US!!

You probably guessed that we would celebrate with a giveaway, because it’s kind of our thing. But one of our favorite things about the book is how well it showcases the differences between Dimple and Rishi. They both display different strengths, beliefs, and outlooks on the world, but what’s truly amazing is how well their differences compliment each other. And honestly, whether you’re more like Dimple or Rishi, you’ll love this book!

In honor of our two distinctive leads, we’re hosting TWO different giveaways! You can enter for a chance to win the Dimple Prize Pack or the Rishi Prize Pack (and yes, you can enter both). Will you win the hopeless romantic’s pack or the empowered feminist pack? Only time will tell, but you can’t win either if you don’t enter!

I love Dimple because she’s so cool and strong! Also I love Rishi because I am a hopeless romantic too! C:

  2. KristyPetree says:

I strive to be a strong woman, and consider myself a feminist …but that doesn’t mean I reject gushy romantic gestures from time to time. I think deep down inside most of us, there lies a hopeless romantic even if we try to fight it sometimes! The book sounds awesome, probably one of the most anticipated YA contemps this year. Thanks for the chance!

  3. Danielle says:

This book was so fantastic. it’s become a new favorite contemporary for sure!

  4. Danielle says:

Dimple is a great heroine – she’s headfast and stubborn, but not uncaring or unkind. She knows what she wants ans is confident in herself.
Rishi is open-hearted and warm. he is loyal and optimistic and very encouraging.
Together they create a beautiful partnership where they uplift and support each other beautifully.

  5. Like Dimple, I’m stubborn and like Rishi, I’m loyal. Thank you for the chance! (:

  6. ElsaVivi says:

Thanks for this great giveaway!! I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this book!

  7. lurkykitty says:

I relate to both Dimple and Rishi because I think it is possible to be both a hopeless romantic and an empowered feminist.

  8. bookbutterfly9 says:

I haven’t read the book yet, so I can’t honestly say why I identify with the characters, but I’d love the opportunity to find out. It’s on my wish list!~ Thanks for the chance!

  9. tacos_tais says:

I haven’t read the book yet😥. I would love to get the oppurtunity to relate to the characters.

  10. gabbiechang says:

I love that Dimple is confident in knowing what she wants@

  11. gabbiechang says:

I love that Rishi is so adorable and nice!

  12. jamsreadsbooks says:

I relate to Dimple in a lot of ways. Overbearing mom (mine was always very opinionated about my relationships), college grad and web developer for years! Rishi on the other hand actually sounds really cute. I’ve heard happy stories about arranged marriages and the whole book just sounds adorable.

  13. Alexa says:

I love Dimple because she seems like a really feministic individual.

  14. Alexa says:

I love Rishi because he seems to be adorable, and I can relate to him because I myself am a hopeless romantic, haha.

  15. ensconcedya says:

While I really like being in control and feeling like I have it “all figured out” like Dimple, I think realistically, life happens! I’m organized and a planner, but things don’t always go as planned. And while I like to be seen as a strong female, there is definitely a part of me that’s Rishi, because I’m a secret “romantic.” I still swoon! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  16. __karthika__ says:

I haven’t read this book yet =( But I can’t wait to read it if I get the opportunity to!

  17. TiffieKittie says:

  18. Rabia says:

I read an excerpt and am so excited to get my hands on this book! I know that I can relate to the story and I know it’ll be a hilarious read.

    • Rabia says:

I also love that Dimple is a headstrong girl that is willing to stand up for her dreams and values and is relatable in the way that she clashes with her mother in their different set of values. Rishi is admirable in the fact that he has his values as well and I’m curious to see how he will go about to make Dimple see things from his point of view.

  19. I have yet to read When Dimple Met Rishi, but I can relate to both aspects. I like to think of myself as a feminist and a romantic as well.

I would love to win this prize pack! My friends have all been raving about it and I am so excited to read it!

  20. hippiechick1955 says:

She’s a strong and confident woman. What’s not to love about her.

I can like both, be a hopeless romantic and a strong woman both at the same time if I want.

  52. Lanay says:

This book sounds very interesting. It is way different from other books I have read. :)

I relate to Dimple being freshly graduated and ready to enjoy her freedom!

  54. Britjaye says:

I haven’t read this yet, so not sure how I will relate. Im excited to read this one to find out!

  55. 811brynncess says:

Both characters have something relatable about them. With Dimple, it’s all about looking at life as a challenge to overcome. But in life, you also need Rishi’s ability to dream beautifully.

  56. RoRo says:

    Super excited

  57. ArtemisHi says:

I’m very much wanting to read this one. Like Dimple, I had my life figured out when I was 17 and graduating high school.

  58. ArtemisHi says:

And like Rishi, I am and have always been a hopeless romantic. I also LOVE that this book has a male protagonist who is a romantic, and shown in a positive light. I come from a family of romantics (my brother *sang* to his wife during their wedding ceremony, and proposed by writing the question huge in the sand on a beach while a friend flew her over it), and it’s great to finally see that reflected in YA lit as a non-gendered domain.

  59. spiritedaway says:

I’ve wanted this book since I first heard out it!

  60. kmriley says:

    I really need the mug!

  61. Luce says:

    I love Dimple’s confidence and Rishi’s persistence

  62. tianalei says:

I consider myself a hopeless romantic, but I’m also very confident in what I want. I think I’d root for both these characters!

  63. nicoleokumura says:

    heeelooooo

  64. Librarygrl2 says:

I love Dimple because she is herself. Plus also, I like to code.

  65. Librarygrl2 says:

Rishi is so sweet. He is someone who notices everything (except with his brother) and thinks of others.

  66. AnJag81 says:

I love Dimple because she has a strong character and personality.

  67. AnJag81 says:

I like Rishi because he seems so sweet and personable.

  68. julieok says:

Dimple is just an amazing young woman and role model :)

  69. Amayanerd says:

Rishi is who I want as my book bff!!!

  70. I can relate to both Dimple and Rishi. Dimple because I like to make my own decisions and not have others plan my life for me and Rishi because I am a hopeless romantic.

  71. jamiekate13 says:

I’m like Dimple because I’m all about female empowerment and being the hero of my own story. I relate to Dimple’s stubborn nature.

I’m like Rishi because as much as I don’t need a Prince Charming, I do love a good happily ever after. I’m an obvious hopeless romantic.

  72. angelimaginary says:

I relate to Dimple in ambition to get out from under my family and find my way into life. I also relate to Rishi in being a hopeless romantic. I don’t know if it’d be to the extent of going into an arranged marriage but I still. ^-^

  73. coolpandazz says:

I haven’t read the book yet but would love to read it on the beach this summer.

  74. I love Dimple because she seems like a really strong female lead, which I think is definitely an important concept to include in YA lit. I also relate to Dimple, because I know part of me is a hopeless romantic!

  75. Nicolle says:

I’m pretty stubborn like Dimple. I’d love to get a signed copy of the book and love the mug!
