  6. Anxiousbookaholic says:

The whole concept of the plot excited me. It sounds like a cute book. The arranged marriage idea is an old ideal but still in practice that isn’t brought up in YA that often. But given it seems to have a lighter view and the book seems a little comedic really gives me hope it’ll be a fun read. I don’t read enough diverse books and I need to fix that too. :)

  59. elgold02 says:

I am looking forward to reading this because I need more diversity in my YA lit – it is extremely lacking! I have not read a book from an Indian perspective, and am very eager to. Besides, this book sounds positively adorable.

  60. Tash says:

I look forward to reading this book because first off I’m a sucker for dual (or more) pov, I like being able to know on a personal level what the characters are thinking/feeling instead of just the MC. Secondly, I think it would be really interesting to read about Indian culture because a family who owns a gas station in my town are Indian and I’ve heard from people who are friends with the family that the son had an arranged marriage that didn’t exactly go so well. It’d be fascinating to read about something that a family in my own town went through and possibly get a better understanding and perspective of that. My grandmother is South Korean and was disowned by her parents for marrying my grandfather, but even then she doesn’t talk much about it besides just the simple fact her parents passed away still accepting her as their own for marrying an American instead of “their own”. I think this world all needs more books like this to get (hopefully) a better understanding of each other no matter what culture we come from. Overall I just think this would be just not an awesome read but also a special book to own.

    • This one has been on my tbr list since I first read the synopsis! And there are a ton of reasons I can’t wait to read it! It’s an #ownvoices book! I can’t tell you how much I love finding and reading own voices books! The reason we read(or at least one of the reasons I do) is to learn about other cultures. So I love reading books where I can have fun while doing that. I’ve also being reading a lit of books with series subject matter so I could really use a great Romantic Comedy! And a YA Contemporary one is even better! I love the idea h of the parents supporting their daughter’s interest while trying to help her find love! This sounds amazingly sweet, romantic, and funny! And I can’t wait to read it! Thanks so much RivetedLit for the chance! :)
