Yes Riveted Readers, we have ANOTHER Fall 2017 cover reveal for you! This one’s the last one (for the moment, at least!) and this is one we have been DYING TO TELL YOU ABOUT FOR MONTHS!

We are ecstatic to be revealing the cover for one of our most anticipated Fall reads, Emily Suvada’s debut novel, This Mortal Coil! Upon hearing the premise of this book, the Riveted Team immediately attacked the editor to get something to read, and what we got does not disappoint! This Mortal Coil is the kind of glorious dystopian romance that can only exist when a brilliant mathematician/chemistry enthusiast also has an undeniable gift for writing. This book has it all: complex characters, drama, gene hacking, and a deadly disease. Even the title is epic! This Mortal Coil = DNA. And DNA is extremely important because…well…did we mention the GENE HACKING?

We could continue rambling about how amazing this book is, but it seems a bit cruel to do so since you have to wait until November to read it. Rest assured though, we’ll be getting an excerpt to you as soon as we can because you NEED to read this (And WE need people to talk to about it!). Until then, check out this description and prepare to feel the anticipation for this book wash over you.

Catarina Agatta is a hacker. She can cripple mainframes and crash though firewalls, but that’s not what makes her special. In Cat’s world, people are implanted with technology to recode their DNA, allowing them to change their bodies in any way they want. And Cat happens to be a gene-hacking genius.

That’s no surprise, since Cat’s father is Dr. Lachlan Agatta, a legendary geneticist who may be the last hope for defeating a plague that has brought humanity to the brink of extinction. But during the outbreak, Lachlan was kidnapped by a shadowy organization called Cartaxus, leaving Cat to survive the last two years on her own.

When a Cartaxus soldier, Cole, arrives with news that her father has been killed, Cat’s instincts tell her it’s just another Cartaxus lie. But Cole also brings a message: before Lachlan died, he managed to create a vaccine, and Cole needs Cat’s help to release it and save the human race.

Now Cat must decide who she can trust: The soldier with secrets of his own? The father who made her promise to hide from Cartaxus at all costs? In a world where nature itself can be rewritten, how much can she even trust herself?

This Mortal Coil will be on sale on November 7, 2017. Trust us when we say we’re dying for the world to read it so you’ll be hearing a lot more about it from us between now and November. In the meantime, you can pre-order or find it on Goodreads and add it to your shelf. Now for the cover! Feast your eyes on this:
