If you’ve walked into any store lately, the aisles and aisles of red hearts and candy have probably clued you in to the fact that Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. Yes, candy and the promise of romance is exciting and all, but what’s the most spectacular thing about this impending holiday? It means that Galentine’s Day is coming! If you’re unfamiliar with Galentine’s Day, I’ll happily clue you in, because it is without a doubt the greatest holiday of all time!
Galentine’s Day is a holiday that originated in 2010 from an episode of Parks and Recreation, and was the brainchild of Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope. Truly, her character explained it best: “Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”
Essentially Galentine’s Day is like Valentine’s Day but with your best gal pals and pajamas are not only accepted but encouraged! I know what you’re thinking, and yes, it is a magical experience. That’s why we at Riveted want to help you have the best Galentine’s Day EVER, so whether you’re celebrating for the first time or the seventh, check out these Galentine’s Day instructions!
