It’s day three of our Fall 17 cover reveals! (#RivetedRevealFA17)!
We’ve got two covers to show off today, very different types of books but both third in their respective series. First up is Final Fall, the third and final book in the Lock & Mori series. In case you’re not already familiar, in this re-imagined classic, Lock (as in “Sherlock”) and Mori (as in Moriarty, though in this series, Mori is female because romance…not that a romance between a traditional Sherlock and Mori wouldn’t be equally compelling, but we digress), are two brilliant high school students in modern-day London, brought together by a murder.
On the other hand, we have Book of Shadows, the third book in the Diary of a Haunting series, though unlike Lock & Mori, each are standalone books sharing a common thread in their author, the mysterious M. Verano, who penned each of the Diary of a Haunting books based on diaries he found as well as his own research into the paranormal. In Book of Shadows a young girl discovers a magical spell book and dives headfirst into the occult and guess what? Things don’t go well. Think American Horror Story and The Craft (a great movie which, BTW, did you hear they may be making a sequel to? But again, we digress….)
As usual, glorious cover images, book descriptions, and Goodreads links below! And if you missed any of this week’s #RivetedRevealFA17 posts, here they are:
- Day 1: Zero Repeat Forever and Freefall
- Day 2: Run Away With Me, The Victoria in My Head, and The Last True Love Story
Lock & Mori: Final Fall by Heather W. Petty
About the Book:
Mori is out for revenge. Imprisoned in the English countryside, with her brothers held as leverage, she’s never felt angrier or more helpless. When an opportunity for escape arises, Mori takes it and flees back to the streets of London, where she is finally able to plot the demise of her recently freed father and his cohorts.
But after a bittersweet reunion with Lock, she discovers that he may not be the ally he once was. In the face of blackmail, threats, and Lock’s noble attempts to thwart her crusade, Mori has an impossible decision to make.
Can Mori wash the blood from her hands and walk away? Or will her final fall from grace be the end of everyone she loves?
Lock & Mori: Final Fall will be available November 28, 2017!

Diary of a Haunting: Book of Shadows by M. Verano
About the Book:
All Melanie wants is a blank book to keep a journal of her private thoughts. One day while browsing in a used bookshop, she finds the perfect blank book—smooth black leather with strange symbols in gold embossing. But once she gets home, Melanie finds herself too intimidated by the heavy vellum pages to write her trivial thoughts on them. Her Wiccan friend Lara tells her it’s better suited to be a magical spell book, called The Book of Shadows.
Melanie doesn’t know much about that stuff, but Lara, her boyfriend Caleb, and his friend Lucas, get her started by writing their own made up spells inside the book’s tempting pages. What they didn’t expect was a new spell showing up inside the book—and in handwriting none of them recognize.
Soon they discover that the spells suggested by The Book of Shadows itself do work—but not without wreaking havoc on the lives of the four teenagers.
